Plans pending with Network Rail

Our architectural plans and fence plans are still with Network Rail but have come back a few times as Cat.2 - requires amendments, for which I have complete.

I am now awaiting the final sign-off for the fence plan and the architectural drawings.

Once it has been signed off, we can then move in to install the site perimeter fence, the builder can set up scaffolding around the buildings and start work on the brickwork, and our volunteers can start on the gent’s toilet block and the lineside hut.

I apologise for the lack of real progress for the past 4-6 months, but I hope you understand that we have to have approval from Network Rail for all of our plans, regardless of how big or small they are. Unfortunately, the cogs in Network Rail turn slowly but there is a process for us to follow and we simply have to do things by the book.

I shall update the group once the plans have been signed off, at which point we will be able to book site visits to get cracking on with the big work.

In the meantime, if you wish to get involved with the project in any way, please do not hesitate to drop us a message on here, or via email: info@middletontowers.org.uk
